The Project
What do you do with a back yard when you move in to a new, high end development in South San Jose? Starting with nothing but dirt in the back yard, and with the San Jose skyline and a top notch golf course as a back drop, our client decided to create a back yard entertainment oasis.

The Challenge
With two smaller children, and knowing that he was going to entertain guests and clients, building a backyard pool and landscape became a bit of a challenge. The Owners chose to work with one of the designers from Lifetime Pools because of our experience and integrity. After several discussions with the family, we created a design that is both visually attractive, and purposefully functional.

The Solution
For the children, a beach entry and custom slide were the first elements to be put into the design. To make the slide more spectacular, it was sandwiched between a rock water feature and a grotto with an overhanging waterfall. A raised spa with a view of the San Jose night sky was the next to be added to the plan. Last but not least, were a series of bar stools that were installed along side a sunken bar area. Colored concrete and flagstone coping completed the design.

Because the property is built at the top of a hill, the structural design of the pool was a critical piece of the design puzzle. To eliminate water from the neighboring slopes undermining the pool, an under drain system was installed beneath the pool with a drain outlet system. Because Lifetime Pools places such a strong emphasis on the engineering of it’s pools, our customers can sleep easy at night without worrying about the integrity of their pool structure.

With the design elements complete, it was time to work on the functional portions of the pool. Jandy’s Aqua-Pure chlorine generator (salt system) is used to maintain sparkling clear water without the dry skin and red eyes that can be the result of too much chlorine in the pool. Lifetime’s exclusive PCC-2000 in-floor system with MDX debris removal system are used to keep the water free from debris. The entire system is controlled from the comfort of their home using the Jandy One-Touch controller. All of the pool or spa operations are done from inside the house or inside the spa. To give the pool and spa a more natural look, Tahoe Blue Pebble-Tec was used as the final finished material.

Because Lifetime Pools is the only company in the Bay Area that has its own Service Department, the Owners knows that any problems with the pool or the equipment will be taken care of quickly and efficiently. Our Service Department performs the warranty work on all of the pool and equipment that is installed in you back yard. Because we are a factory authorized warranty station for all of our equipment, there is never a delay while waiting for authorization from the manufacturer to repair or replace and piece of equipment. Our service technicians are stocked with all of the necessary parts to make repairs in the field. With the full backing of the manufacturers, they are fully authorized to make decisions in the field.
