Residential Swimming Pool - Silicon Valley>skip to picture gallery
The Project
The Owners had a large piece of property that overlooks the Silicon Valley and they had already installed fountains and landscaped the front yard. He wanted to create something special in the back yard but also had some interesting challenges.
The Challenge
They wanted the spa to be under the balcony but a grade beam had been installed between the two support posts to hold up the structure. Because the game room had full length windows, he wanted the pool to appear as though it was running under the house. Because the other side of the pool was on the edge of slope, a vanishing edge feature was also desired.
The Solution
We enlisted the services of a landscape architect and put their ideas on paper. Many revisions were made to the plan to make sure that the Owner's ideas would be recreated in their yard. More concrete decking and additional water features were added to the project along with a full size tennis court and landscaping.
Once construction started, adjustments were made to handle the on-site conditions. For example, we encased the grade beam and wrapped it with foam so that we wouldn't damage the structural integrity of the balcony above. The mechanical was also relocated and placed below a cantilevered deck so that it was hidden from anywhere on the property.
Some of the features of the pool are:
Paramount PCC-2000 in-floor cleaning system
Chlorine Generator
Custom Cascade water features
Vanishing edge feature
Built in bar stools and sunken bar
Telescoping water spray heads
Fiber optic accent lighting
Solar heating system
Trench drain overflow at shallow end steps
